Peri itu bernama "Jasmine".
Pada suatu hari, tinggalah seorang gadis kecil bernama Jasmine, dia adalah seorang yang keturunan Arab-Belanda, dia sekarang tinggal di salah satu kota di Indonesia. Masa kecil Jasmine begitu indah, karena dari kecil dia sudah di ajak jalan-jalan bersama keluarganya, Jasmine adalah seorang yang periang, manja, lucu, aneh, dan mungkin bisa di katakan gila, yang paling unik adalah, dia suka ngambek. Tapi, di balik itu semua, ada satu hal yang dia tidak ingin orang tau mengenai dirinya, bahwa umurnya tak lama lagi. Dia takut, setelah orang tau tentang sisi di balik keceriaannya selama ini, orang-orang akan menjauhinya. Jasmine sangat suka berimajinasi, baik mengenai masa depannya, maupun tentang teman-temannya. Ya, Jasmine bisa di bilang cukup terkenal di sekolahnya, selain karna wajahnya yang manis, sifatnya yang periang, Jasmine juga banyak di sukai oleh teman-teman di sekolahnya, dia juga lumayan cerdas di sekolahnya. Suatu ketika, dia kenal dengan seorang laki-laki pendiam dan kutu buku bernama Kenzi. Kenzi memang biasa saja, tapi Jasmine sangat suka dengan mata Kenzi, begitu tajam, coklat, dan penuh kedinginan. Dia bertanya-tanya dalam hatinya "Akan kah aku bisa bersama dengan pria ini?" Namun, Kenzi adalah pribadi yang dingin, pendiam, cuek, dan sangat suka membaca. Beda sekali dengan kepribadian Jasmine.
Perasaan Jasmine makin aneh terhadap Kenzi, mana mungkin dia bisa suka dengan seseorang yang cuek, dingin, dan misterius macam Kenzi? Namun, pertanyaan dalam hatinya terjawab. Ya, pada suatu pagi di sekolahnya, dia diam-diam membaca pikiran Kenzi melalui mata Kenzi yang menurutnya sangat special, Kenzi adalah orang yang baru-baru ini di kaguminya. Ternyata, Jasmine memang menyukai Kenzi apa adanya, namun dia hanya malu mengutarakannya.Bel sekolah pun berbunyi, tiba saatnya untuk pulang sekolah. Dia pun pulang dan langsung tergeletak di kamar bersama kucing-kucingnya, ya Jasmine memang pecinta kucing, mungkin ada sekitar 15 kucing di rumahnya. Seketika Jasmine berpikir "Tepatkah aku memilih dia untuk berbagi rasa? Apa mungkin orang seperti dia bisa memanjakan ku seperti mama papa dan kakak ku? Atau Mungkinkah dia yang aku pilih untuk menjaga hati ku?" Dia pun ketiduran sambil membayangkannya. Sore pun datang, dia menjalankan rutinitas di rumah seperti biasa. Jasmine mempunyai satu buku yang sangat di rahasiakan, buku itu berwarna pink dan yang jelas itu bergambar kucing. Menurutnya, buku itu adalah jimatnya, tanpa buku itu dia tidak dapat menuangkan imajinasinya dalam goresan pena. Dia perlahan menuangkan imajinasinya kedalam buku itu, ya lagi-lagi imajinasinya tentang Kenzi. Orang yang baru-baru ini di kaguminya.
Sifat Jasmine perlahan berubah, dia jadi menjaga sedikit sikapnya, dia mulai mendekati Kenzi yang waktu itu belum merespon. Lama-kelamaan Kenzi mulai merasakan perubahan sikap Jasmine terhadapnya. Namun Jasmine berpura-pura, bahwa tidak ada yang berubah terhada sikapnya ke Kenzi. Pada suatu malam, ketakutan Jasmine selama ini muncul, ya..sisi di balik keceriaannya mulai muncul, hidungnya mengeluarkan darah, tangannya yang berkeringat dingin, dan juga penyakitnya yang tiba-tiba datang. Dia takut "Apa mungkin Kenzi akan suka sama perempuan sakit-sakitan seperti ini?" Dengan kecewa dia melihat ke cermin, hidungnya yang mulai mengeluarkan darah cukup deras, dan matanya mulai kunang-kunang. Dia pun pingsan, untung saja hal ini cepat di ketahui mamanya, dia pun langsung di bawa ke rumah sakit.
Selama di rawat, dia hanya bisa berimajinasi tentang dirinya dan Kenzi, tentang peri kecil yang rapuh, peri kecil yang tidak kuat..bahkan tidak kuat untuk terbang sekalipun, dia berharap ada manusia yang bisa melihat jauh ke dalam hatinya, memeluknya, sambil membisikan padanya "Jangan takut, kamu kuat, aku ada di sini yang siap menangkap mu di kala kamu jatuh dan tak bisa terbang lagi..." Sungguh, mata Jasmine mulai memerah ketika dia memikirkan akan hal ini, dia berharap sosok manusia itu adalah "Kenzi". Dia berharap Kenzi mau menerima keadaannya apa adanya, di balik keceriaan itu tersimpan rasa takut yang luar biasa.
Setelah pendekatan yang tidak cukup lama, Kenzi dan Jasmine akhirnya memulai suatu hubungan baru, namun sifat Kenzi yang sangat cuek sungguh mematahkan hati Jasmine, namun dia biasa untuk pura-pura kuat..padahal dia rapuh, seringkali temannya melihat Jasmine tersenyum tertawa di depan Kenzi, namun hanya ada satu sahabat Jasmine bernama Prince yang bisa melihat kedalam hatinya, bahwa senyumannya itu tak sesungguhnya keluar dari hatinya, dia tersakiti oleh sifat Kenzi yang seringkali bersifat macam Geoge Koizumi, tokoh kartun kesukaan Jasmine di serial anime Paradise Kiss. Ya, 80% sifat Kenzi mirip dengan George, dingin, diam, dan misterius, dan sangat menyebalkan, Jasmine hanya bisa sabar dan tersenyum saat Kenzi mulai mengabaikannya, tak jarang Jasmine menangis di hadapan sahabat laki-lakinya, Prince.
Suatu sore, Jasmine berbicara pada kucingnya, dia percaya..bahwa satu-satunya yang mau mendengarkan keluh kesahnya adalah kucing-kucingnya, lantas dia berbicara pada kucingnya layaknya kucingnya dapat mengerti bahasanya. Dia lelah mengenai sifat Kenzi padanya, "Hey, gadis ini butuh majaan, perhatian dan kasih sayang tulus dari seseorang yang di berikan separuh hatinya." katanya dalam hati. Namun, sering kali dia berpura-pura tegar, dan di balik kata "Aku enggak apa-apa kok" tersimpan luka yang luar biasa dahsyatnya. Tapi entah mengapa, setiap kali Kenzi mengacuhkannya, pada saat tertentu, Kenzi bisa mengembalikan senyum Jasmine yang hilang, mungkin itu salah satu magnet yang membuat Jasmine suka padanya.
Suatu hari Kenzi datang dengan membawa gambar, dia tau bahwa Jasmine tak dapat menggambar dengan benar, gambar ayam adalah satu-satunya gambar andalan Jasmine, sesaat setelah Kenzi memberinya gambar itu, dia sangat senang dan tak dapat berkata apa-apa. Gambar itu selalu Jasmine bawa kemanapun dia pergi, dia selalu memamerkan gambar buatan Kenzi itu kepada teman-temannya. Jasmine berjanji pada dirinya sendiri, bahwa dia akan selalu menjaga gambar itu, karena saat ini, satu-satunya yang paling berharga di matanya adalah gambar pemberian Kenzi.
Pada Intinya, Jasmine tidak mau kalau Kenzi tau tentang sisi di balik keceriaannya, kelak jika Jasmine meninggal karena penyakitnya, dia hanya mau menjadi peri kecil yang selalu menemani Kenzi kemanapun dia pergi, Jasmine juga mau menyaksikan Kenzi tumbuh menjadi seorang laki-laki yang nanti akan mencukur kumisnya, Jasmine juga ingin menyaksikan pernikahan Kenzi dengan jodonya kelak, dan Jasmine ingin melihat bagaimana Kenzi membesarkan anak-cucunya, sampai nanti Kenzi tua, dan meninggal, Jasmine akan menunggunya untuk pergi bersamanya ke dunia yang lain, yang abadi, dan mungkin akan lebih indah untuk mereka.
Terima kasih Kenzi, karena sudah mau mengajarkan Jasmine banyak hal, mulai dari kesabaran, pelajaran sekolah, terutama Fisika dan Matematika, kadang Jasmine teringat bagaimana tingkahnya saat bersama Kenzi, begitu polosnya dia, namun tetap ceria untuk menyembunyikan rasa kecewanya.
